The City of Chicago is considering the purchase of the lots for use as either a �tot park� or a �dog park.�

Former Use: The subject property is located at 951, 953, 955 West Huron Street in Chicago, Illinois and consists three (3) parcels of a combined approximately 0.2 acres of vacant grassy land. The property is currently a grassy vacant lot. The property has been vacant since 2007 when the two structures were demolished. The subject property was previously three buildings used as residential dwellings until at least 1928. The residential structure located at 955 W. Huron Street was demolished sometime between 1928 and 1950. From the time of demolition of this structure until 2007, the subject property consisted of a vacant lot, a residential flat, and a residential dwelling. The two remaining residential structures were demolished in 2007. A north adjoining property is currently developed as a 6-story apartment building. The facility is listed in the UST and LUST databases. A 3,000-gallon UST containing heating oil was reportedly removed from the property in 1997 and a 1,800-gallon UST containing heating oil was removed from the property in 1999. A LUST incident was reported for this facility in 1999 for heating oil. The LUST incident was issued a NFR letter in 2000. Assumed groundwater flow in the general area is towards the east, cross-gradient of the 951 W. Huron. Based on this NFA letter and the assumed groundwater flow direction, the north adjoining property is not considered evidence of a recognized environmental condition in connection with the subject property at this time.
