Additional Property Attributes

The Site appears to have been developed with the two buildings that are currently located at the northwest third of the Site. Between 1939 and 1946, the southeastern part of the large building that currently comprises the southeast two thirds of the Site was constructed. Sometime between 1946 and 1953, the building at the southeastern end of the Site was expanded to resemble the structure currently present onsite on the southeastern two thirds of the Site. The Site addresses of 639 � 653 South Santa Fe Avenue are first listed having been occupied by a realty office, a plumber, a metal and supply store, a piano shop and a linoleum store in 1955. The Site buildings have remained in use as a commercial building from 1958 to the present, housing a variety of retail uses (music shop, beauty salon, upholstery store, a western auto general store, a shoe repair shop, an Electrolux appliance store, a Roto Rooter plumbing service, a thrift store, a septic system company and a tax service).
