Former Use: The subject property is owned by the 226 W. Main, LLC and is currently zoned as commercial/industrial. The entire Site is covered by a building which is currently occupied by Hannahs Hope Chest, a thrift store. The Hardee County parcel identification number for the property is listed as 04-34-25-0260-00017-0001. The Site is bordered to the west by Oakwood Construction and Andersons Kitchen, Floors and More; to the east is Main Street Grill building and parking area. The Site is bordered to the north by an alleyway owned by the City of Wauchula. Across the alley, to the north is a single family residence. Across West Main Street, to the south, are Giovanni's Main Street Kitchen and Lisas Hair and Nail Salon. The first documented use of the property was for commercial development for auto sales sometime between 1914 and 1926. According to a 1940 Sanborn map, the back of the building was formerly utilized as an auto repair facility. The property existed as an automotive repair facility until the mid-1950s when a furniture store took occupancy. The property remained a furniture store until the 2000s. The current tenant is a thrift store.
