Property Highlights

The City of Atlanta's Brownfield Program supported the development of the Atlanta BeltLine early-on with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). In 2012, the City conducted a series of soil and groundwater samples along the Atlanta BeltLine Westside Trail corridor. In 2017, the Westside Trail segment was completed. The cost for acquiring, remediating and constructing the 3-mile segment of the larger 22-mile Atlanta BeltLine was $43 million. The southernmost 2.3 miles of the Corridor from Interstate 1-20 to University Avenue, received a $140K BRLF loan and cost $43M to build. The 2.3 mile segment is southernmost section of total 3.45 miles GA DOT Segment aka Westside Trail. ABI received $18M in US DOT TIGER funds for this segment of Trail. Former Use: 3.45-mile RR corridor was owned and operated by railroad companies since the late 1800s and then by GDOT. Property was purchased by Invest Atlanta/Atlanta BeltLine, Inc in 2014.
