Additional Property Attributes

As a result of the Phase I and II activities funded by the grant, the City was able to leverage public and private funding to pursue property redevelopment. This included the City purchasing the property and obtaining a 319 grant from Ohio EPA for restoration of the Champion Creek corridor immediately adjoining the property. Potential redevelopment plans include a nature learning center for elementary to high school students and leasing of warehousing buildings on the property to commercial tenants.

Former Use: The property was originally developed as a creamery operation in the 1890s and then became a lumber company in 1910. Lumber company activities ceased in 2008. The property was used for storage of lumber and is currently vacant.
