Additional Property Attributes

The Proposed Affordable Housing Location will be located in the center of town adjacent to a municipal complex that includes the police station, a school, the Boxford Town Hall, and a municipal garage. The proposed affordable housing will provide housing for applicants qualifying under M.G.L. Section 40B. Because the project is municipally-sponsored, there will be a minimum of 50 percent affordable housing units in the development, which is twice the state mandate for Section 40B developments. The demand for affordable housing units is very high in Boxford. (PPF - Proposed Affordable Housing Location, 2/4/05) This is the "center" of town for practical purposes, because Boxford is a rural/suburban community without a significant business development. (PPF - Proposed Affordable Housing Location, 7/28/06)

Former Use: No known historical use. Undeveloped wooded land used by elementary school for nature hikes.
