Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Based on a review of the historical information, the site consisted of vacant land until 1965 when a structure was constructed on-site and occupied by Hardees Restaurant. In the mid-1970s, a new structure was constructed on-site and remained vacant until the mid-1990s, when the site was occupied by various car sales facilities with a landscaped area on the north portion of the site. In the early 2000s, an addition was made to the site building for office purposes and in approximately 2009, the site was completely paved to the north boundary and a covered vehicle work area was constructed. The current and historic on-site automotive sales and service facilities constitute an REC in connection with the site. The surrounding properties historically consisted of a railroad to the north and vacant land to the east, south and west from at least 1942 until the late 1960s when the properties to the north, east and west were developed with commercial structures and the south property was developed as a city park. In the late 1960s, the adjacent east property appeared to be a surface parking lot until it was removed in the early 2000s. The west adjacent property structure was constructed in the early-1970s and has historically been occupied with various car care facilities. The adjacent car care facilities constitute RECs to the site. Additionally, Hancock Paint Co. and Roach Paint Co. were located west of the site, and the historic paint manufacturing activities constitute an REC.
