Property Highlights

Anchorage Park is the location is a former wastewater treatment facility. The Village of North Palm Beach re-evaluated the reuse of this property for open space/greenspace and recreational opportunities. Environmental assessment activities (including a Phase I ESA, Phase II ESA, and Supplemental Assessments) were performed to address recognized environmental conditions associated with the former land use. In addition, a NESHAP asbestos survey was performed which resulted in special handling/disposal of ACMs during demolition activities. Based on laboratory analysis of soil and groundwater samples, sediments from the bottom of the former clarifier tank were removed and properly disposed based on minor exceedances of regulatory limits. Based on the results of environmental assessment, waste disposal, and asbestos abatement activities performed prior to, and during, demolition of the former wastewater treatment plant; previously identified RECs have been substantially addressed.
