This vacant property is currently in the initial stages of redevelopment in conjunction with the adjoining property with an alternative energy production company that manufatures solar panels. Great Lakes Solar Technology will invest 5,800,000 to redevelop this and the adjoining properties with a solar panel manufacturing and research facility. Upon completion in 2015, this redevelopment will create up to 100 full time permanent jobs

Former Use: The subject property is a rectangular shaped parcel consisting of 2-acres and was developed as a single-family residence with outbuildings and is zoned A-1 Primary Agriculture & Conservation Development. Thomas Township Building Department records indicate that a barn, machine shop, milk house, and silo have been constructed around the property. The primary subject building (Subject Building-1) was developed in 1895 and had the following past ownership/occupants of the property: Faucher Family; Faucher Investments; and Christopher J. Encisco. The buildings have since been razed and it is currently owned by Saginaw County Economic Development Corporation.
