Additional Property Attributes

The Friends of Hoyt Park (local non-profit) acquired the operation interest in this historic park. The City of Saginaw's funding did not allow for the necesary maintenance and repair of the property. Friends of Hoyt Park raised the funds to complete significant renovations and maintenance to the parksapce, including ice rinks, ball diamonds, and a warming house with refreshments.

Former Use: Hoyt Park and a Veterans Memorial is located on the property. Aerials show a railroad spur transects the property since 1901. A clubhouse building was constructed in the 1920s and has been subject to very little up grades and has been vacated for at least 20 years due to building upkeep needs. It was reported that a heating oil UST was used to fuel the building heating system. In the 1930s the property was developed with 4 structures (includes a consession stand and warming house) and the exterior of the subject property consists of Veterans Memorial Plaza, baseball/softball diamonds, and grass covered areas. Multiple adjoining properties have been documented with contamination. Hoyt Park occupies the subject property.
