Additional Property Attributes

This vacant industrial property was used to manufacture plaster statues and decorations. The adjoining property purchased this property and will redeveloped in the near future by adjoining concrete and agrregate ditribution facility. The defunct building has been demolished and the site has been prepared for the pending redevelopment.

Former Use: The subject property and the adjoining properties to north and south were utilized as a lumberyard in the late 1800s and early 1900s. A portion of the Saginaw river was present on the property until it was filled. Multiple buildings have been constructed and razed over the years. Other adjoinging properties have reported contaminants, operated as a chemical factory, as well as a roofing and sheet metal company. On the subject property, Cramton Gift Manufacturing was listed on RCRA-Nongen, CERLCIS, and according to the description, the site is an abandoned manufacturing facility where product and wastes from former operations remain on site when Saginaw County took possession of property through tax reversion, requesting assistance with cleanup. A single railroad transects the subject property, but railroad spurs have historically traversed portions of the subject property. The subject property is zoned M-2 (manufacturing) with no structures present on the property. Consists of a grass and soil covered area with an entrance drive. Portions of the subject property appear to be used by an adjoining property to the south for the storage of a semi-trailer, debris including asphalt pieces, and soil. Past owner/occupants: Saginaw Asphalt Paving, Co. and Edw. C. Levy, Co.
