Additional Property Attributes

Located across the Mississippi River from St. Louis and the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial (aka the Gateway Arch), the ACF site has been developed since at least 1905. The site has recently stirred the interest of the National Park Service as a potential expansion of the Gateway Arch park.

Former Use: The ACF site has been developed since at least 1905. The subject site operated as a railcar cleaning and maintenance facility from roughly 1925 to 1982. Currently owned by American Car Foundry (ACF), this PRP has entered the site in the Illinois Site Remediation Program, but no cleanup has taken place.
