Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site is developed with one commercial building and is currently divided with office space on the first and second floors. A small parking area is located at the rear of the building. Based on a review of the historical information, the site was developed with retail structures on the northern portion of the site by at least 1885. Typical tenants at the site building have included �barber & baths�, restaurants, bakeries, �stores,� physicians, lawyers, insurance and real estate agents, contractors, Clinton Abstract & Title, and residents. The 1988 city directory identified Smith�s Printing as located at the site. Based on the unknown operations at the site while occupied by Smith�s Printing, this former tenant represents a REC to the site. Auto body and repair shops were identified on the south-adjoining property from approximately 1964 to 1993. The long term use of hazardous substances and petroleum products associated with these types of businesses, the apparent topographic up-gradient position of some of these businesses from the site, and close proximity of these businesses from the site, represents a REC to the site. Based on information obtained from the Henry County Assessor�s Office, there is no specific ownership information. The representative stated that ownership information for the site is related to W 116 Jefferson Street, which has been owned by Clinton Main Street, Inc. since April 10, 2012.
