Additional Property Attributes

The 0.62 acre rectangular Site consists of a single parcel located on the north side of Front Street and directly across the intersection of Front Street and Depot Street in Chicopee, Massachusetts. The Site is located within the western portion of the Cabotville Industrial Park and is accessible via paved and gravel driveways throughout the park. The building is currently utilized by the Lyman Company for the cold storage of industrial wiping bails. The majority of the industrial wiping bails are located on the western portion of the main (first level). Extra inventory, wood pallets, and metal racking are stored at the eastern portion of the main (first) level. The remaining upper five levels of the building are mostly empty with the exception of a few sporadic pieces of equipment or inventory including an out-of-use bailing maching on the third floor and boxes of rages on the fourth floor. The building is an approximately 27,600 square feet,6-story brick warehouse storage building which occupies the majority of the Site parcel. The City of Chicopee provides both water and sanitary sewer service to the Site. The building is not currently heated, other than electric heat in the sprinkler rooms at the main level of the building.

Former Use: The building is currently utilized by the Lyman Company for the cold storage of industrial wiping bails. The Site is developed with an approximate 27,600 square foot, 6-story brick warehouse storage building which occupies the majority of the Site parcel. The majority of the industrial wiping bails are located on the western portion of the main (first) level. Extra inventory, wood pallets, and metal racking are stored at the eastern portion of the main (first) level. The remaining upper five levels of the building are mostly empty with the exception a few sporadic pieces of equipment or inventory including an out-of use bailing machine on the third floor and boxes of rags on the fourth floor. The City of Chicopee hopes to purchase this property with the goal of creating open space along the Dwight Canal in accordance with the City's Areawide Plan for Brownfields in the West End neighborhood.
