Additional Property Attributes

Parcel I is a compilation of several parcels that were investigated under the EPA Assessment Pilot Grant. The city purchased the properties over time, relocating businesses, demolishing buildings, and evaluating the extent and magnitude of impacts. The property is being cleaned up under the state voluntary liability exemption process. PPF attached to QR 3, 4/1/04-6/30/04 RFPs have been sent out for property redevelopment. The property was awarded an EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant in October 2004. PPF attached to QR 5, 10/1/04-12/31/04 Parcel I is a portion of the Wisconsin Automated Machinery site was investigated under the EPA Site Assessment Pilot Grant. The city purchased the property, demolished the buildings with a SAG from the WDNR. Property is VPLE. PPF-8/27/08.

Former Use: The property has been occupied by industrial facillities since the early 1900s. Previous industrial facilities included the Bell Machine Company, Reliance Boiler Works, Williamson & Libbey Lumber Company, and Wisconsin Automated Machinery. Bell Machine Co., Reliance Boiler Works, Williamson & Libby Lumber Company, and Wisconsin Automated Machinery have occupied the property since the 1800s. 8/27/08
