1.055M leveraged MassDevelopment grant and 24.315M leveraged redevelopment funding applies to entire redevelopment project which involves 3 parcels, 1540, 1542, and 1542R Columbus Ave. Funding is reported in its entirety under this parcel for simplicity. Leveraged jobs for project are also reported under this parcel only for simplicity.

Former Use: The Site was undeveloped prior to 1897. By 1919, the Site was developed with several structures including a trucking facility, garage building, and manufacturing facility. By 1950, multiple additions were made and the buildings were re-occupied by an automobile dealership, a repair shop, and a plumbing supply retailer. In 1987, the property was taken by the City of Boston by tax foreclosure. Buildings associated with these uses were present until at least 1995. Lead and arsenic concentrations exceeding MA reportable concentrations were identified in site-wide soils during a 2007 subsurface investigation.
