Additional Property Attributes

An "Asbestos and Hazardous Materials Conclusion" was completed on 7/13/06 using funds from this EPA Site Assessment grant. The amount of funds spent on assessing this property was $11,222.10. (PPF - Putnam Hall Property, 1/30/07) The amount of funds spent on assessing this property was $11,377.50. Former Use: Originally built in 1877 as an opera house and retail property, Putnam Hall has since been reused in various other capacities. Vacant since 1982. Interior hazardous substances survey completed in July 2006. Using grant funds from the FRCOG Brownfields RLF and MassDevelopment Brownfields Program, interior was remediated of all hazardous substances in 2008. After review of documents about potential hazardous substances on property outside of building, a Phase II assessment was completed. The recommendation is that if future site work requires excavation of fill, a soil management plan be developed by a LSP, and that the LSP conducts a site sepcific risk characterization for the site or that fill be covered or paved to limit exposure. If properly managed, soils could remain on site.
