Additional Property Attributes

Formerly C.N. Merrill's Grist Mill

Former Use: The Site consists of a 0.05-acre parcel of land located along the western side of Central Street and situated adjacent to the Newfound River. The Site is improved with one (1) 2,674 square foot, three-story wood d building. The building has been vacant for approximately three years. The Site is referred to by the Town of Bristol as Map 114, Lot 122 and is currently owned by John A. and Dawn M. Reynolds. The Site was reportedly first developed in approximately 1850 and was part of the C.N. Merrills Grist Mill. This use continued until the mid to late 1930s, and primarily included the storage of grain, concrete, lime, building materials, and other materials. The second floor of the Site building was also reportedly used for printing and as an armory. After 1939, the building was used as a furniture store, an auto parts store, a delicatessen/restaurant, a glass blowing studio, and possibly other commercial uses. At some time after 1939, the second floor was converted into rental living space, and in 2002 the first floor was converted into a second residential unit.
