Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Former steel manufacturing facility. The following is from Ohio EPA- The property had 2 NFA letters issued and both received a covenant not to sue (CNS). The first 6.6 acre portion received COAF cleanup for asbestos removal from some structures on a small portion of the property, the CNS was issued in Oct. 2015. The 2nd NFA letter was for the entire 109 acre property (not funded by Clean Ohio). Soil was removed (to 4 ft) from 11 identified areas. All soil in the 0-2 ft point of compliance (POC) meets commercial/industrial standards. Asbestos was also abated from additional structures. There is a use restriction against ground water use. There is an occupancy restriction for a portion of the property due to potential vapor issues. An asphalt cap must be maintained beneath a power line tower due to PAH in soil. A property-wide Risk Mitigation Plan is in effect to protect for any future exposures below the 2 ft POC due to lead and mercury. The CNS was issued in January 2018. River Rail Development was the Volunteer for both NFA letters. They were improved the site with rail access and lay down yard for various oil/gas supplies and materials. Some structures remain for storage. I believe a new truck stop was constructed near the entrance to the property. The auditor indicates the property was sold to Tidewater River Rail Operating LLC in June 2018. I believe they are continuing similar operations for the shale industry.
