Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: This property is currently owned by Mammoth Springs, LLC with a redevelopment plan underway for housing and greenspace. Historic uses include a welding shop (2000-2012), tool manufacturing facility (1978-1995), automotive shoip (1970-1975) and service station (1965-1970). A LUST release was reported in 1997 by Merritt Tool & Manufacturing. Both unleaded and leaded gasoline was found in the soil, bedrock and groundwater. Soil was remediated and groundwater was monitored through 2003. Cleanup of this release was paid for by the state LUST fund (PECFA). The site was closed with a deed restriction for soil, due to inaccessibility because of the building. The building was torn down in fall 2012 and investigation of the underlying soil, as well as possible contaminants from uses following the service station, is necessary.
