Additional Property Attributes

The Property is currently vacant; approximately 0.172 acres in size located on the S. side of Main Street between 6th & 7th Streets. The City owns the property and would like to sell it for redevelopment. Property is down gradient of the historic railroad yard. Because of this there was a potential groundwater may be contaminated the needs the property. Groundwater sampling was done and no contamination was identified. The property is cleared for redevelopment.

Former Use: Originally, property was developed as post office, carpenter shop, saloon with lodging, barber shop; accoridng to 1885 Sanborn map. 1907 maps showed carpenter shop was converted to dry goods store. 1927 saw developement of Overland Hotel which was converted to a Chinese restaurant by 1960s. The restaurant burned down in the 1990s and in 2010 the city graded the land.
