Additional Property Attributes

Minneapolis was awarded a DEED Redevelopment Grant (not a contamination cleanup grant) for 140,000 to help redevelop this Site as a 54-unit apartment complex called West Broadway Curve . The CommonBond Communities project will have 49 units of affordable housing. The City received a 56,333 contamination cleanup grant from the Hennepin County Environmental Response Fund in the summer of 2013.

Former Use: This 10-parcel site was historically used for various commercial and residential purposes. The northernmost parcel (2022 W Broadway) was used for automotive repair between 1999 and 2007. The parcels located at 2018 and 1936 W Broadway were historically occupied by a used car lot and an electrical contracting company, respectively. Several former residential structures located on the southern part of the site were demolished prior to the 1980s when city ordinances allowed demolition materials to be buried within former basements as fill material. The historic land use acreages, given below, are approximate.
