Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site consists of one parcel totaling approximately 0.77 acres of land. The site is bounded by Washington Street and residences to the south, Northern Indiana Public Service Company properties to the north, a gravel alley and vacant properties to the east, and 5th Street and commercial properties to the west. According to Sanborn maps, the Site had operated as furniture manufacturing/finishing in the northwest portion, a coal gasification facility along the northern edge, and a railroad siding ran through the site and along the southern edge. Sanborn maps and city directories indicate the majority of the site had operated historically as a fruit and vegetable warehouse and cold storage from at least 1911 to about 1964. The site appears to have been vacant until about 1974 when it began operating as a metal stamping and manufacturing facility. The Subject Site continued to be operated as a metal stamping and fabrication facility until at least 2010 � 2012. The site has been vacant since.
