Additional Property Attributes

The 10-acre property identified as the subject site was acquired by the City of Port Huron for potential industrial development. Future plans for potential industrial development at the subject property. The 10-acre parcel currently consists of wooded and grass-covered land with no structures developed within the site boundaries. The subject property was previously used for residential purposes. The presence of soil/debris piles observed in the northeast and north-central portions of the subject property depicted on a 1999 aerial photograph in connection with the soil mounds observed in the same area during the site inspection is considered an REC. Envirologic conducted a Phase II sampling activities to assess the unknown fill material observed throughout the site.

Former Use: The 10 Acre Parcel was historically developed with residential homes. Shawmut Corporation is an industrial manufacturer located to the east of the site. Shawmut Corporation also owns the parking lot located adjacent to the northeast portion of the property. Various Residential home owners historically owned individual parcels throughout the subject property until it was acquired by the City of Port Huron. City of Port Huron and Shawmut Corporation plan to transfer the subject property and parking lot as well as addttional land for the future expansion of Shawmut Corporation located to the south of the subject property. The Phase II sampling activities confirmed the subject property as a "facility" based on the levels of various PNAs detected in soil at the property above Residential Cleanup Criteria that exceeded both Groundwater surface water Interface Protection (GSIP) and Direct Contact Criteria.
