Additional Property Attributes

The Phase 1 Environmental Assessment and Asbestos Survey found approximately 10,800 sf of asbestos containing materials. The City of Toledo took ownership of the former hotel and spent $171,000 in transitional revolving loan fund to abate the asbestos. The City then spent $300,000 to demolish the building.

In 2019, the City sold 1.5 acres to the International Union of Operating Engineers as additional land for a new office building. In 2021, the City sold the remaining 3.5 acres to The Toledo Police Federal Credit to construct a new office and retail banking center on the site ($1.2MM investment).

Former Use: The site consists of a hotel and was developed with the existing eleven story building in 1974. The site is currently vacant. The building consists of a lobby, guest rooms on floors 2-10 and an penthouse on floor eleven. There is univeral waste and asbestos throughout the structure.
