Additional Property Attributes

Site is currently vacant. A former building pad and a partial retaining wall remain at the site. The site was previously occupied by two buildings. The City is interested in purchasing the property for use as park/recreational space that would complement adjacent recreational uses.

Former Use: The property was occupied by a filling station from at least 1935 until 2010. There are two closed petroleum releases associated with the property: Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) Leak Numbers 171 (closed Sept. 1996) and 15976 (closed February 2010). Prior investigations conducted at the property in connection with the closed leak sites indicate that petroleum contamination is limited to the former tank basins and dispenser islands, according to the Phase I Assessment conducted with Assessment Grant funds.
