Additional Property Attributes

The project will construct a new 5-story, 96-unit residential building on the rear portion of the property flanking the bike path with two levels of parking. It will also include the gut renovation of the existing 4-story, circa 1914 "Olds Seed Building", converting it from office into a mixed-use building with 45 residential units and approximately 7,200 SF of commercial space on the first level fronting on Williamson.

Former Use: The property was used for industrial purposes from the early 1900s to the 1980s or 1990s. The northwestern portion of the 722 Williamson St. parcel, currently a parking lot, was used as a bulk petroleum storage facility from approximately the 1930s through 1970. Sixteen fuel oil ASTs ranging in size from 5,000 to 50,000-gallons were closed/removed in 1970. An auto repair and storage building was located within the facility, as shown on 1942 and 1950 Sanborn maps. Warehouses were present on both the 722 and 734 Williamson St. parcels by 1902. Two rail sidings ran though the middle of the property by 1902. The 722 Williamson St. parcel is currently an open investigation site with the Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources for soil, groundwater and vapor petroleum contamination. Presently, the property is used for commercial offices and parking lots.
