Additional Property Attributes

The subject property consists of one parcel occupying approximately 0.6 acres. The site is developed with an 1,800 sq. ft. two-story building with basement. The site was first developed in 1884 and has been used for multiple commercial purposes including drugstore, cigar factory, barber, and store.The developer (Dan Perkins Development, LLC) is seeking assistance from the Marquette County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority to conduct assessment activities in downtown Ishpeming. The property is one of three separate parcels subject to redevelopment activities and the developer intends to redevelop the property into a micro-brewery. Redevelopment, however, is complicated due to offsite concerns identified in the 2012 Phase I ESA listing multiple sites of known contamination in the vicinity of the subject property. Four open Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) sites are located within approximately 0.25 miles of the subject property and two of the sites are located adjacent to the subject property. Phase II ESA characterization did not result in the identification of impacts.
