Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The former Rockwell Lime Co., which was originally identified as 1801 Spring Street, was used by C. Reiss Coal CO., successor to Plantico Coal, as a coal storage facility from approximately 1919 until 1927, which Manitowoc Portland Cement was built and commenced crushing, heating, and cement storage operations in the northeast section of the property. The cement manufacturing process, which occupied roughly on half of the property, including the kiln, was reportedly purchased and operated by Medusa Cement Co. until 1972. The kiln was closed. The Property was purchased by RLC Properties, LLC, a Wisconsin Limited Liability Company, d/b/a (Rockwell Lime) in 1987 as part of a plan to expand its lime business. Rockwell Lime, however, never operated the facility and sold it to the current owner in December of 2008. The Site remains abandoned.
