Additional Property Attributes

From our Hazardous Materials Assessment, we recommend conducting the demolition in accordance with the requirements of the OSHA Asbestos Construction Standard. Similar to the flooring materials, work involving the roofing material is considered OSHA Class II asbestos work. Due to the inability of some demolition contractors to conduct a demolition involving asbestos, it may be beneficial to remove the roofing prior to demolition. If the asphaltic roofing or flashing materials are removed prior to demolition, we recommend a licensed asbestos contractor remove these materials in accordance with the OSHA Class II asbestos work requirements. We also recommend proper removal and appropriate disposal of containers of chemical products; fluorescent light tubes (a source of mercury vapor) and elemental mercury thermostat switches; and suspect-PCB fluorescent light ballasts prior to demolition of the building.
