Additional Property Attributes

Property is the designated site for construction of a new downtown Farmers market.

Former Use: The subject property consists of four contiguous parcels that were once the east portion of the former Muskegon Mall. Development consisted of numerous dwellings, assorted commercial businesses and small storefronts, and a few small industrial operations (furniture and woodworking) from at least 1883 until 1974, when construction of the mall began. A portion of the Sears & Roebuck Company building and associated parking lot was located on the subject property until 2004, when the Sears store was demolished.
