Additional Property Attributes

This site has been redeveloped into City Deck Landings- a beautiful urban mixed-use apartment complex with shared amenities, including a riverfront patio lounge, and 7,000 sf of retail on the first floor. City Deck Landings is located centrally, in the heart of downtown, and is contiguous to Green Bay's City Deck, an urban boardwalk that is one of the most cherished public spaces in Brown County. City Deck Landings offers housing that appeals to Millennials and Young Professionals by providing amenities that serve a tech-savvy and on-the-go demographic.

Former Use: The target property and surrounding land along the Fox River were developed for industrial use, including railroad corridors and spurs, wharfs, and warehouses. A railroad corridor passed through the property and rail spurs were present. Raw materials and finished products were likely transferred between barges on the Fox River and rail cars along the river bank. Historical records show that the target property and nearby properties were used for warehouse storage of numerous materials including grain, fish, ice, beverages, cheese, wool, agricultural implements, and salt. Buildings were also used for machine shops, engine rooms, a filling station, photo store, sign painting, and motor cycle repair. Around 1970, the target property buildings were removed and the highway was realigned across the east side of the parcel. The west side of the parcel was developed into Admiral Flately Park. Around 2005, the bridge across the Fox River was reconstructed and the highway was realigned along the north side of the target property. By 2010, the City Deck had been constructed along the river bank, and the highway had been removed from the east side of the parcel. Soils on and around the target property are described as fill land. The land along the Fox River was likely filled during the 1800s to raise and flatten the river bank for the railroad corridor and to facilitate the transfer and storage of materials. Historically, industrial byproducts like coal ash were often used for fill material.
