Additional Property Attributes

The Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) completed in September 2013 did not note the presence of Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) for the two former residential parcels. There were no remnants of structures or signs of contamination. Based on the residential, vacant lots and minimal commercial uses in the area, no environmental concerns were noted on surrounding properties. No further environmental activities were recommended. The Property has been acquired by the City of Kansas City, Missouri Department of Parks & Recreation to enhance an urban Kansas City, Missouri park known as Marlborough Park. The Parks Department, since the time of the completion of the Phase I ESA, has added parking, a picnic shelter, and amenities to Marlborough Park.

Former Use: The Property is vacant and and is mostly covered by weeds, grass and trees. No buildings or permanent structures are present on the Property. Historical research indicated that 8219 Brooklyn Avenue parcel was developed prior to 1934 as residential land; the 8217 Brooklyn Avenue parcel has not had residential addresses associated with it and has likely been a vacant lot since at least 1945. The land will be utilized as greenspace to enhance Marlborough Park.
