Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property is currently unoccupied and listed as State of Minnesota Trust Exempt land. An approximately 500 square-foot gable-roof storage garage building is located on the west side of the subject property. Most of the subject property is surrounded by a chain-link security fence. The grounds of the subject property are generally grass covered but include some pavements. Historical information concerning the subject property was available back to 1937 in aerial photographs and to 1956 in city directories. Based on aerial photographs, it appears that the subject property was undeveloped through at least 1953 and then developed with a small commercial building sometime between 1953 and 1957. Based on 1956 city directory listings, 1164 Frost Avenue (which appears to be a historic property address) was occupied the Frost Meat Company at that time. In the 1973 through 1991 aerial photographs, a larger building is apparent on the subject property. Based on 1961 through 1971 city directory listings, that building listed at 1160 Frost Avenue appears to have been occupied by a building contractor. The 1976 directory lists the subject property as vacant. Various automotive mechanic and body repair businesses, golf cart repair, and appliance repair businesses are listed for 1160 Frost Avenue in the 1981 through 2002 city directory listings. The former building was recently demolished.
