Property Highlights

Former Use: The property is irregular in shape and is comprised of the 18 parcels. Historical information concerning the subject property was available back to 1937 in aerial photographs and 1956 in city directories. Based on aerial photographs, it appears that the subject property was developed by 1937 with one dwelling at 1201 frost Avenue and four dwellings on the parcels currently owned by Maplewood Ventures, LLC. The first known commercial buildings are apparent in the 1953 aerial photograph at 1291 Frost Avenue (former filling station) and 1965 English Street (Oswald Fire Hose Company). In addition, it appears possible in the 1940 through 1953 photographs that aggregate mining may have occurred on the parcels at 1221 to 1239 Frost Avenue. Based on City Directory listings, Blake Excavating Company occupied 1221 Frost Avenue from at least the mid-1950s to the late 1970s. Based on city directory listings, automobile repair and service business activities have occurred on one or more of the subject property parcels since 1961.
