Additional Property Attributes

Based on a Phase I ESA completed in April 2014, RECs have been identified based on the site's historical use (chrome plating and auto body shop), documented on-site impacts related to the former plating facility, and potential off-site sources of petroleum and solvent impacts. A Limited Phase II ESA (limitations based on budget and time constraints) revealed metals and PAH impacts to soil that exceeded cleanup target levels. These soils will likely need to be addresssed as part of site redevelopment (such as a Soil Management Plan) and/or inclusion of clean fill; with potential for an FDEP conditional closure.

Former Use: During the site's use/ownership by Qual Krom Inc., impacts were discovered to soil and groundwater related to the former owner's mis-handling of hazardous materials. The site is located in an area developed primarily with industrial facilities, dating back to the early 1900's. The property was acquired by the County via Tax Deed after the Qual Krom owner filed bankruptcy.
