Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property was used for various manufacturing operations since 1905. The facility was purchased by Higbie Manufacturing Company in 1950. ITT Automotive, now ITT Corporation (ITT), acquired Higbie Manufacturing Company in 1972. ITT operated the facility from 1972 until 1994 for the manufacturing of automotive push rods and steel tubing. ITT ceased manufacturing at the subject property in 1994. On May 5, 1998, ITT entered into an Administrative Order by Consent (AOC) with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) for the final response activity (RA) (MDEQ, May 1998). The AOC was later modified and added to until the final amended AOC was developed and agreed to in April 2002.
