The building was reportedly constructed in 1973. Interviews with neighbors and other community members indicated that a dry cleaner operated in the building from the mid-1970s into the 1980s. From 1991 through 2010, the building was used only as a laundromat (the building was used as a drop-off location for an off-site dry cleaner). The building is currently vacant, with the laundromat being closed in 2010 due to vandalism.
