Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Number of Parcels and Acreage - Three parcels (two in the northwest, one in the southeast) totaling 0.82 acres. Number of Building(s) and Square Footage - Two interconnected warehouse buildings (appear as one structure) with a mezzanine level totaling 17,723 square feet, located on the southeastern parcel. Current Property Use - Northwestern parcels are used for a parking lot (vacant land) and the southeastern parcel is occupied by a cabinet assembly company. The subject property was initially developed prior to 1889 with three mixed use storefronts with second-story residences in the southeastern parcel along Frankfort Avenue. Four adjoining residential structures were constructed on the northwestern parcels along West 3rd Street (formerly C Street) between 1903 and 1908. By 1921, an addition was made to the three southeastern storefronts to create the Phillip Olim & Company Wholesale warehouse. The warehouse was demolished and the southeastern parcel was redeveloped with the northern portion of the current building between 1921 and 1928. Based on the 1928 Sanborn map, the warehouse was occupied by a wholesale grocers shop. Two storefronts and a residence were added to the southern portion of the southeastern parcel between 1949 and 1962. PM was unable to document occupancy of the warehouse from 1928 to 1962, however based on the layout of the building, it was likely used for general warehousing operations. The storefronts and residence were demolished in 1963 and the southern portion of the current warehouse constructed in 1964. The four adjoining residences on the northwest parcels were demolished between 1963 and 1970. The northwest parcels have been vacant land used as a parking lot since that time. The warehouse was occupied by a paper and chemical supply distribution company from approximately 1930 to 2004. The warehouse was then vacant until 2012 when Barclay Enterprises began utilizing the building for cabinet assembly operations.
