Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property is identified as 307 South Jackson Street, Starkville, Mississippi, and consists of two parcels totaling 7.30 acres. The subject property is developed with an elementary school building and a cafeteria building totaling 50,396 square feet. The property is not currently zoned. Standard and other historical sources were able to document that the subject property has been an elementary school since at least 1905. An addition to the original western building was constructed in 1925. An addition was added onto the original building between 1948 and 1952 with a final addition to the southern portion of the subject building to complete the current layout between 1984 and 1992. Asbestos containing materials - Based upon PM's limited visual observations during the site reconnaissance, suspect ACBMs identified included drywall walls, textured ceiling material on plaster, plaster walls, suspended acoustical ceiling tile, and lab tabletops in the laboratory. PM reviewed a previous ACBM survey for the school that documented known ACBM including 9 inch by 9 inch floor tiles and window glazing. The materials appeared to be in good condition with the exception of slight staining noted on the ceiling tiles. Prior to any renovation or demolition that may impact the suspect materials, PM recommends the completion of an ACBM survey.
