Additional Property Attributes

The former Eagle Gas Station came in to the ownership of the town of Gardnerville, NV through tax lien by Douglas County, NV. The property had previously been foreclosed by the mortgage holder and property tax payment had ceased. Based on Phase II ESA work done by the gas station owner, the town had knowledge of underground storage tanks on site used for the disposal of waste oil and the storage of heating oil, the town requested the Nevada Brownfield Program help them redevelop the property for public use through the removal and clean-up of these two USTs and petroleum contaminated soil associated with the two USTs. The Town also requested assistance with the assessment of the existing gas station building and fuel island structure fir the presence of asbestos-containing materials and Lead-based paint. The Nevada brownfield program provided this assistance documented here. The property also has petroleum product USTs on-site and there are soil and groundwater issues due to those tank failures. Those tanks qualify for investigation and clean-up under Nevada's Petroleum Fund. Information pertaining to the total cost to clean-up the site and the leveraged funding will be added when that work is completed.
