Additional Property Attributes

Arsenic has been detected in groundwater from the southernmost monitoring well location (TMW 1/MW - 1) at concentrations ranging from below detection levels in the permanent well (MW - 1; sampled in January 2013) to 1.0 mg/L in the temporary well (TMW - 1; sampled in July 2012). Groundwater was detected at a concentration of 0.028 mg/L during the July/August 2013 sample event and was comparable to the 0.029 mg/L detected in April 2013. It is believed the levels detected in the last two rounds of sampling are within naturally occurring, background levels for the Daytona Beach Riverfront Area. It is recommended that MW - 1 continued to be sampled and analyzed for arsenic to establish that levels are stable and confirm that the slightly elevated arsenic levels in the groundwater at this one location are likely naturally occurring. The variable arsenic concentrations slightly above the 0.01 FDEP GCTL at the TMW 1/MW 1 location are likely due to non-anthropogenic phenomena caused by tidal influence from the nearby Halifax River or geochemical influences within the shallow groundwater aquifer and not likely associated with a discharge of arsenic.

Former Use: City of Daytona Beach has developed the property for the public use as a waterfront park.
