Additional Property Attributes

The subject property was part of KI Sawyer Air Force Base which opened in 1955. The subject property was used as a gas station/automotive service garage from 1973 until the base closed in 1995. Historic petroleum impact to soil/groundwater was identified in association with former gasoline USTs. J.B. Sawyer Enterprises, LLC acquired the site in 2014 and intends to utilize the existing 5,000 sq. ft. building for gasoline retail and automotive service.

Former Use: The subject property was part of the KI Sawyer Air Force Base, which was opened in 1955. The subject property was used as a gas station and automotive service garage since its construction in 1973 and operated as such until the base was closed in 1995. There have been previous environmental assessments done on the property resulting in regulatory closure for previous petroleum contamination, which included a small petroleum plume which originated from the former underground storage tanks (USTs) located on the subject property. As of 2012, the levels of petroleum contaminants were less than the residential soil and residential groundwater cleanup criteria. The subject property was purchased in January 2014 by Joshua Bahrman, who intends to update the property as a new gas station and convenience store, with assistance from the MCBRA.
