Additional Property Attributes

A Due Diligence Phase II Property Assessment for the property was completed under this grant. The property needs to be acquired and the building demolished in order for the Seiberling Way Phase I ODOT roadway improvement project to be constructed. The roadway project is associated with the Goodyear Redevelopment project. All of the soil, groundwater, and PCB wipe samples taken under the Phase II met the applicable standards. The Preliminary Risk Evaluation found that there are no unacceptable hazards or risks posed by the direct contact with soil associated with the exposure pathways included in the evaluation. The property will be acquired by ODOT for the project.

Former Use: The Phase II Property Assessment mentioned deals only with a portion of the Property. The facility is developed with a large manufacturing building in the eastern portion of the property and a smaller fabrication building to the west of the manufacturing building. A small substation is present to the south of the manufacturing building loading docks, which are located in the southwestern corner of the manufacturing building. The remaining areas of the property are paved parking areas. Only the manufacturing building and substation are part of the Property that was addressed in the Due Diligence Phase II Assessment. The Property is unoccupied currently. From 1918 through 2012, operations conducted at the property included manufacturing of carbon steel molds used in rubber tire manufacturing, manufacturing of plastic automobile and appliance parts, machining and assembly of rubber tire test and measurement equipment and machining. Most recently MicroPoise occupied the building and manufactured force and balance machines for the tire industry.
