Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site was developed in 1903 as an agricultural implement factory. In the last 30 years the site had been used for custom metal fabrication, warehousing, and transportation support. The site was underutilized and mostly vacant. The City of Waterloo originally sought to purchase the site, demolish the structures, and prepare the site for a mixed use redevelopment that would spur redevelopment in the area. The DNR's 128(a) program assisted with AAI costs through a grant to cover a Phase I ESA. The City decided not to pursue acquisition and demolition of the site or Phase II assistance from Iowa DNR's 128(a).
