Additional Property Attributes

Lying on the east bank of the Rock River, this site is a key northern gateway to downtown and included both city-owned and private property, including known brownfields. The recommended concept plan utilizes this area as an extension of Traxler Park, linking the riverfront park to Downtown Janesville.

Former Use: Historical use of the Adams Roofing parcel is documented as a lumberyard, foundry, machine shop, blacksmith, and truck repair. Adams Roofing has operated on this parcel since 1941 and has occupied a two-story slab on grade building constructed in sections prior to 1940. A Quonset building was constructed adjacent to the northwest portion of this building between the mid-1950s and early 1960s. Both buildings have been used by Adams Roofing for storing roofing and building materials.
