Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property has been used as an LP gas distribution facility since at least 1992. There was an interview source that indicated the property was used as a sewage treatment ponds, but aerial photographs from 1971 to 1996 show the pond was actually on the adjoining property to the west and the subject property was undeveloped with no apparent use from 1963 to 1985. The primary activity or the property revolved around two large cylindrical ASTs on the north side of the property that contain LP gas. These tanks appear to be in good condition and access to them is limited by a locked chain link fence. The property is also used as a stock or graveyard for perhaps hundreds of small propane tanks, approximately a dozen gasoline station dispensers, and four UST carcasses. The dispensers and UST carcasses may be from the former Fitch Gas Station adjoining to the east, but this is not known. The UST carcasses appeared to be empty and there was no evidence of odors, ground staining, or stressed vegetation in their vicinity. Some equipment or vehicle maintenance work appears to have been conducted on the property. There are truck trailers and metal cages that contain 1 to 2-gallon containers of motor oil and other chemicals, such as paint. Apparent soil staining from motor oil was observed on and around the metal cage on the central portion of the property. Soil staining from apparent motor oil was also observed at a storm water manhole where used oil may have been disposed. The property owner is Thomas LP Gas Company, Inc.
