Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site is approximately 0.54 acre in area and consists of one parcel. The site is currently occupied by one commercial building, one storage building, and associated paved and gravel parking and storage areas. The site was undeveloped and/or agricultural land from at least 1900 until at least the 1930s and was developed in 1946 with the current commercial building. The commercial building operated as a grocery store with fuel pumps for store customers through the 1950s and was occupied by Ohio Butchers Supply and other unidentified businesses for undetermined time periods from the 1960s through the early 1990s. The site was vacant in 1992 when three underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed and has been occupied by M J Weis Roofing Company since 1993. A storage building was constructed on the western portion of the site in 2006. According to the LUST database, one release on October 29, 1992 is under active Tier 1 Investigation. In a deficiency letter dated June 1, 1993, BUSTR informed Genoa Bank: 1) insufficient soil samples were collected during the UST closure (e.g., product lines were not sampled and only one soil sample was collected from beneath UST #3); 2) incorrect test methods were used to analyze volatile aromatic organics; 3) disposition of excavated soil was not included in the report; and 4) use of the Site Feature Scoring System insufficiently justified the predominant soil type. In 1994 BUSTR completed a Responsible Party (RP) search and determined that none of the currently living current or former property owners owned or operated the USTs.
