The subject site is developed with four large structures and two storage sheds located southeast of the intersection of W. Vernon Avenue and Sheffield Drive in Kinston, North Carolina. The subject site comprises two parcels that total approximately 5.26 acres of land according to the Lenoir County Tax Administration Office. The subject site is located in a generally commercial area and is zoned B-1 (General Business District) by the City of Kinston Planning Department. At the time of site inspection, the subject site was unoccupied and developed with structures associated with the former sale and maintenance of automobiles.

Former Use: According to interview information, the subject site was developed with the present-day structures in approximately 1986 with the exception of two smaller storage sheds constructed in the early 2000s. Prior to 1986, the site appears to have been developed with several structures that were residential and/or agricultural related as far back as 1942. Based on city directories, aerial photographs, and interview information, the subject site was used as an automobile dealership, including automotive repair and service, from approximately 1986 to 2009.
