Additional Property Attributes

The site is currently being developed as a community garden with the support of the Global Action Research Center (Global ARC) and UCSD. The findings of the brownfields work assisted in determining what precautionary measures need to be taken for the garden use, inclusive of where and how to plant edible crops (at grade or as raised gardens).

Former Use: The site was vacant and/or undeveloped from 1930 to 1950. The property was developed in 1953 as a plant nursery until at least 1964, at which time the property was developed with two unidentified structures. From approximately 1980 to 2012, the subject property has been vacant land. According to information obtained from interviews, the subject property was formerly used for automotive repair by the automotive repair facility adjacent to the west. In 2013, the site was developed as a community garden.
